Local Manufacturing Company Wins Key Industry Award

Local hi-tech manufacturing company, Precimatic Ltd, is celebrating after leading oil and gas well flow engineering company, Expro, named it its ‘Machining Supplier of the Year’. Precimatic manufacture connectors for companies operating in sub-sea oil exploration and have been supplying Expro for fifteen years. They are the first recipient of this award, which was given after their Quality, Cost, Delivery and Responsiveness was measured as exemplary within Expro’s global supply chain. Managing Director, Gerry Meechan, commented:”I am very pleased that the high quality of our work has been recognised in this way by one of our major customers. We have a highly skilled team here and this award is testament to that. We have also been supported by the Department of Economic Development over the year which has helped Precimatic continue to invest in skills, the latest machine tool technology and to work more closely with Government and other local companies in the supply chain.” Precimatic has been operating in the Isle of Man since 1975 and employs 18 skilled engineers. They are members of the Isle of Man Aerospace Cluster and are also involved in the manufacture of high quality components to the aerospace, laser optic and mining industries. Department of Economic Development Member with responsibility for manufacturing, Mrs Clare Christian MLC, commented: “I am delighted to hear that Precimatic Ltd has been recognised by one of their key customers for the quality and value they deliver. What is especially pleasing is that this is such a competitive industry where the very highest standards of manufacture and cost efficiencies apply. I congratulate Gerry and the rest of the team at Precimatic on this award which also helps showcase the Island as a centre of manufacturing excellence.” ENDS
