Archery Report

by isleofman.com 18th October 2010
This weeks Worcester round started well with the morning session getting of to a storming start with everyone on target to get PB’s. At the halfway break the targets were set on and scores were high, only the be interrupted by another group in the building setting the fire alarm off with a bouncy castle. This causing a full evacuation of the building and full fire brigade attendance. On word of the fire chief shooting could commence after 30 minutes and in the cold crisp manx wind everyone’s muscles were cold. Once shooting started again archers could only get two more ends in before the alarm sounded again. Another set back where archers were in the cold again for another 30 minutes. On returning to complete their competition with the late finish and the unpredictable fire alarm the afternoon session had to be cancelled. Even with the inconvenience of the fire alarms there was only one PB coming from Kirsten George who has now changed from recurve to compound. Tony Hartley took advantage over Michael Tancurin, Dave Berry, Colin Moore and only one lady recurver getting a chance to shoot. Anne Rutland put in a creditable score even dropping 10 points at the restarts due to the fire alarms. The CWG Team Isle of Man returned home and we hope the jetlag and tummy bugs subside. Gents Recurve Tony Hartley 60 35 274 Michael Tancurin 60 33 264 Dave Berry 60 22 253 Colin Moore 60 22 245 Ladies Recurve Anne Rutland 60 17 235 Ladies Compound Kirsten George 60 49 289 PB Next weeks round will be a Vegas scratch league at Onchan Community Sports Hall and the start times are 10am setup for a 10:30 start morning shoot and 1:30 for 2pm start afternoon shoot.
