Fairbairn Private Bank Staff Raise Over ?600 For Macmillan Cancer Support

by isleofman.com 18th October 2010
More than ?600 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support Isle of Man by two brave adventurers, David Hanlon and Tom Smart, who were persuaded to take part in a coasteering session when their colleagues at Fairbairn Private Bank pledged money for the cause. Adventurous Experiences kindly offered the two coasteering places free of charge, in aid of the charity, and organised the session which took a challenging route around Peel Castle, on the West Coast of the Isle of Man. The session took place in warm sunshine, 15 degrees sea temperature and strong swell to make it a thoroughly exciting and unforgettable adventurous experience. Despite their reservations, Dave and Tom both faced their fears and completed every jump and found that they actually quite enjoyed themselves. Gillian Wilson, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support Isle of Man, commented: “I would like to thank Dave and Tom for their courageous endeavours to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The money we raise on island is for the benefit of the people of Isle of Man, wherever they have their treatment, but the money raised is only possible thanks to the support of such amazing people. Our corporate partnership with Fairbairn Private Bank is yet another example of working together to get the best results for local people affected by cancer. I would like to thank them for the money they are raising this year and the tireless efforts they are putting in to make the partnership a great success.” Ends
