by isleofman.com 22nd October 2010
Dave Karren Over 40's Competition - Day 2 Round 3 Mount Murray hosted round three of the Dave Karren Over 40’s competition played with the same format of best of 5 games each played to eleven points. Shane Martin again provided a supply of Green Mann Spring Water to help re-hydrate the players and balcony spectators. After the previous rounds upsets there were few surprises this time around. Peter Ginty lost on game point in the first against Vicky Watterson, before going on to take the next three. Derek Tootill took advantage of a jet-lagged Brian Cowley, not-so-fresh from his recent trip down-under, to win in straight sets. Results - Lyndon Cheetham bt Dave Griffiths (3-0); Mark Henson lost to Douglas Jacobsson (0-3); Les Callow bt Phil Shaw (3-1); Shane Martin lost to Ian Kelly (1-3); Vicky Watterson lost to Peter Ginty (1-3); Stuart Highy lost to John Watterson (0-3); Brian Cowley lost to Derek Tootill (0-3) Round 4 – Friday 22nd October Lyndon Cheetham v Douglas Jacobsson; Mark Henson v Dave Griffiths; Les Callow v Ian Kelly; Shane Martin v Phil Shaw; v Peter Ginty v John Watterson; Stuart Highy v Vicky Watterson; Derek Tootill v Helen Cave.
