Suspicious Object on Douglas Beach

by isleofman.com 26th October 2010
Douglas Coastguard Immediate Response Team was called last night (Monday, 25th October) to investigate an object which had been washed up on Douglas Beach opposite the Palace Hotel. The item, which had been reported by a member of the public, was inspected by Coastguard Officers as soon as the tide allowed access. The object, a cylinder approximately 20 inches long with a diameter of approximately 4 inches, was inspected and declared safe to remove. Any member of the public who finds an object on the beach which causes them concern should, as in this case, contact the Coastguard who will carry out an inspection and take any necessary further action.
