Constable Jenette MARTIN from Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team is investigating an incident of two thefts from motor vehicles.
The incidents occurred between 8.00pm on Thursday 28th October 2010 and 7.00am on Friday 29th October 2010 on Mona Drive Douglas close to the area locally known as ‘The Arches’. The passenger side front windows of both cars have been smashed using rocks from a nearby wall, and each car has had its stereo taken.
PC MARTIN said “Incidents like this cause major inconvenience for the owners of the vehicles as well as the obvious expense to repair the damage and replace the stolen equipment, we the Police are anxious to hear from anybody who may have been involved in, seen or heard the incident.”

At about 5.30pm Thursday 28th October, a disturbance took place in the area of PEVERIL STREET, Douglas involving up to 8 people. As a result of the incident, two males received injuries to their faces and had to attend Nobles Hospital for treatment, were they were later discharged. Police are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed or heard this disturbance going on and would encourage them to come forward with details.

Between 6.00pm Sunday 24th October and 6.00pm Tuesday 26th October 2010, an Orange Nissan QASHQAI motor car had damage caused to a rear panel whilst parked on York Road in the region of the flower gardens near the junction with Ballaquayle Road. It is possible that the damage could have been caused by another quite large vehicle.

Police in the south of the Island have been made aware of charity collection bags being delivered to homes requesting that any second-hand clothes, bedding, curtains, handbags, belts or shoes are left outside properties for collection at a later date. The bags are red and white in colour and marked “Safe Today”.
