A Magical Trip On This Years Santa Trains

by isleofman.com 29th October 2010
The Santa Trains are always a popular and magical event, and this year Father Christmas has decided to move his Grotto from ‘Santa’s Stop’ at Santon station, to the King Charles Throne Room, in a festively decorated Castle Rushen. Father Christmas was tending his reindeer and unavailable to comment, but his helpers assure us that he is looking forward to this year’s additional Santa Trains as he will be able to give even more presents out than before! In order to ensure all the good little boys and girls can meet him Isle of Man Railways are extending their Santa trains and putting on a total of 55 trains to Castletown, over 5 days. This is also the first year that there will be Santa Trains available from Port Erin. As passengers step off onto Castletown platform, there will be vintage buses waiting to transfer passengers to the new Castletown Christmas Market, where there will be a winter wonderland, festive market stalls, an enchanted forest, a Christmas carousel and much more! Tickets for the Santa Trains cost just ?11 for adults and ?8 per child and this child ticket includes meeting Father Christmas and a free gift from him at his new Grotto. Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure commented: “The Santa Trains are always a great success bringing smiles and festive cheer to many families. This Christmas is going to be something special with the Christmas Market adding to the experience and making the Santa Trains a magical event not to be missed.” Tickets are available now from Santa’s helpers at the Welcome Centre, pop in or call 662525 to book yours.
