Claus’ For Celebration: Extended Santa Horse Tram Service This Christmas

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2010
Following the sell-out success of the Santa horse trams in 2009 Douglas Borough Council is to operate an extended four-day service this Christmas. The ‘festive format’ remains unchanged with a return trip from the Strathallan terminus on an illuminated tram, a visit to Santa in his grotto, a present and refreshments in the Strathallan Suite. Leisure Services Chairman Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘In 2009 the Santa trams – a first for the Council - were a huge success with all 500 seats selling out very quickly. In response to the overwhelmingly positive response we received – from adults and children – we are pleased to be operating an additional day’s service this year, which equates to around 300 more seats being available for this very special Christmas experience.’ The Santa horse trams will be operating Saturday 18th, Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd December, departing from the Strathallan terminus. Timings each day are 10.00, 10.40, 11.20, 13.00, 13.40, 14.20, 15.00 and 15.40. Tickets, priced ?7.50, (to include present and refreshments) will be on sale from November 9 at Douglas Town Hall. Telephone 696344. Ends
