On Wednesday the 10th of November during the afternoon, a Poppy Appeal collection box belonging to the Royal British Legion was stolen from inside Maughold Church. The collection box contained an unknown amount of coins which was due to be presented to the Royal British Legion at the Service of Remembrance on the 11th of November. Constable Matt Creer of the Northern Neighbourhood Policing team said “This is a despicable offence, to steal donations belonging the Royal British Legion from inside a church, the day before Armistice Day is totally unacceptable. I am asking anyone with information to contact Ramsey Police Station as soon as possible”. Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Constable Creer at Ramsey Police Station on 812234. Ends
