Ann To Leave Anton?

by isleofman.com 12th November 2010
Whatever happens in "Strictly Come Dancing" this weekend, Ann Widdecombe will have to leave Anton behind when she flies to the Isle of Man on Tuesday next. She has been invited to speak at the Gaiety Theatre to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the island's WI's and this promises to be a highly entertaining evening. There are just a few tickets left at ?10 from the Gaiety Box Office for those who do not want to miss out. A spokesman for the WI said, "We would love this to be a sell-out, as it was always intended to be the highlight of our year's celebrations. As well as her political career, Miss Widdecombe will also talk about her religious beliefs and her television and writing careers." The evening begins at 8.00 pm, but Miss Widdecombe will be signing her books in the theatre foyer from 7.15 pm, courtesy of the Lexicon bookshop. There will be a short interval during which questions for Miss Widdecombe can be submitted. In the afternoon about two hundred Year 12 and Year 13 students and their teachers will be attending the Gaiety for a challenging question-and-answer session with Miss Widdecombe, so that should keep her on her (twinkly?) toes!
