C&S A 35 - Toomraiders 36
Toomraiders and C&S A put in fantastic performances, the score being very close all the way through the game. The one goal lead changed hands a couple of times in what was a very exciting game. Claire Bryden, Toomraiders GA was outstanding for her team as was Megan Staples (GS) for C&S. Toomraiders are now marching up their division, deservedly so! POTM: Megan Staples (C&S), Ellie Quayle (Toomraiders).
Manx Glass Saints 24 – Anglo Manx 23
Anglo Manx and Manx Glass Saints also played a thrilling game, matching one another goal for goal throughout the match. Anglo Manx had a one goal advantage at the end of the first three quarters but Saints just tipped the balance in the final few minutes winning the quarter 6 goals to 4 to take the win. POTM: Netty Mooney (Anglo Manx), Kerri Williams (Manx Glass Saints).
Thompson B 13 – Thompson C 12
Thompson B played Thompson C in another close encounter. Thompson C looked like they would take the game, creeping slightly ahead by half time, but Thompson B had a brilliant third quarter reversing that lead. The score remained level until the final few seconds but it was B who scored giving them full points. POTM: Emily Bell (Thompson B) Darcie Farrell (Thompson C)
Ramsey A 27 - PokerStars 11
The ever improving Ramsey A proved too strong for Pokerstars, Tilly Davies earning her player of the match keeping the Pokerstars shooters at bay.
POTM: Tilly Davies (Ramsey A) Amy Kermeen (PokerStars)
Route 1 Connections 51 - PWC MG Rubies 18
Despite netting the first goal, Rubies struggled to get into the game from the start. Although Trudi Halsall’s shooting was in fine form, effortlessly scoring anywhere in the circle, the defense made her work for her opportunities. Katrina Keeling worked tirelessly throughout the game intercepting the ball and making clean passes to her attacking players. At the other end of the court, Route 1’s shooters, Claire Campbell and Nikki Spencer worked very hard, although the start was a little shaky it didn't take them long to get their eye in and get the goals. Rubies’ Di Cregeen’s strong defense was invaluable but it didn't seem to matter how hard she worked, Route 1 were on form. Despite the score line, it was a closely contested match. Rubies put up a good fight and showed determination throughout the game but Route 1’s defense and attack were just too strong for them on the day.
POTM: Kat Keeling (Route 1) Lynette Corrin (PWC MG Rubies)
Toomraiders 36 - C&S A 35 by Judi Clark-Wilson
An exciting match played at a fast, consistent pace from start to finish. C&S A led by 4 goals at half time mainly due to some excellent shooting from Megan Staples. Toomraiders tightened their defensive unit at half time by bringing on Carly Singer to GD and moving Caroline Corteen to GK reversing a 4 goal deficit to a 1 goal advantage by the end of the third quarter. Andrea Du Bruin and Lucy Slater kept a tight grip on the C&S defence making Claire Bryden and Lyndsey Singer work hard to put their shots up. C&S A came out strong in the final quarter and resumed their lead of 3 goals but some fine feeding of the attacking circle from Eleanor and Rachel Quayle edged the raiders forward and finally Toomraiders secured a very close one goal lead against last years runners up in the Premier League.
POTM: Megan Staples (C&S), Ellie Quayle (Toomraiders).
