Co-Op Don Costumes For Charity

by isleofman.com 17th November 2010
Staff and volunteers at Peel Co-Op celebrated Hop Tu Naa with a charity bag pack to benefit local children. The community spirited team, based at the Michael Street branch, swapped their pullovers for pointy hats as they embraced the autumnal festival by dressing as witches for the day. They raised money to fund ‘Krafty Kids’, a FREE session, offered weekly by The Children’s Centre, at the Philip Christian Centre on Derby Road. Pre-school aged children and their parents can come along every Thursday morning from 10am to 11am to enjoy an hour of cutting, painting, sticking and more! Janet Bailey, The Children’s Centre’s community development manager said, “We are so grateful to the wonderful witches at Co-Op and their customers who raised a whopping ?293.92. This will now cover the costs of running ‘Krafty Kids’ until Christmas!” For more information about FREE activities offered by The Children’s Centre in Peel, visit www.thechildrenscentre.org.im or call 843762.
