IOM Squash - Junior Challenge

IoM Junior Squash Challenge (Report by Dave Griffiths) As there is no point being all dressed up with nowhere to go, when Merseyside cancelled the IoM v Merseyside Junior Squash Challenge at short notice, Two IoM teams representing Junior Development Officers Dave Griffiths and Carl Albrigt played a match against each other. The result was an exhilarating contest that was so much fun it might have to be an annual event. Griffiths’ team won 23-21 as Tarek Gomaa avenged a defeat by Mason McLarney earlier in the season in the final match of 15. Results: Oliver Dickinson bt Robin Gledhill 3-0 Edward Batty lost to Sam Wilson 0-3 Sidney Batty bt Angus Bonnett 2-1 Oscar Hill lost to Scott Jones 1-2 Hannah Dixon bt Rachel Pooley 2-1 Toby Woolard lost to Josh Gardner 1-2 Duncan Churcher lost to Richard Creer 1-2 Juan Churcher lost to Aareez Khan 0-3 Juan Corrin bt Sammy Holt 3-0 Daniel Gibson lost to Alastair Trace 0-3 George Griffiths bt Hadyn McLarney 2-1 Chris Moore bt Patrick Fitzpatrick 2-1 Ben Atkinson bt Liam Dixon 2-1 Mike Hayler (Coach) bt Tom Whiteway 2-1 Tarek Gomaa bt Mason McLarney 2-0. IOMSRA would like to thank Kuba Szymanski wholeheartedly for sponsoring this event as well as the recent Polish Tournament. Ben Atkinson picked up the Challenge trophy as Captain of the winning team and both teams were presented with medals on ribbons in Polish white and red colours.
