Tim Croft of Paddy’s, the popular local fishmongers, will be appearing at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham between 24 – 28 November 2010. Tim and local chef Steve Quirke will be showcasing the very best Manx seafood during the five day show and for the first time Tim has been invited to present his produce along side a celebrity chef, within the Christmas Tasting Theatre. Local speciality dishes including Paddy’s own award winning Hot & Cold Smoked Salmon, Manx Crab, Manx Scallops and Queenies will all be served up to a festive audience in what promises to be a mouth-watering five-day foodie extravaganza! Paddy’s hooked on fish, which is based on the quay in Port St Mary, best known for its friendly service, fresh fish and fine food ,was established in 2008 as the retail arm of Isle of Man sales and marketing agency Island Seafare. Paddy’s also recently launched its online shop www.hookedonfish.co.uk offering locals and the UK visitors the opportunity buy online with fresh fish delivered to their door. Tim Croft from Paddy’s commented. “As a family, food and especially seafood has always been a great passion, so being able to present and talk about our produce within one of the theatres at the BBC Good Food Show was a golden opportunity I was only to glad to seize upon. Not only is it a great launching pad for Paddy’s but it also gives me the chance to showcase the very best Manx produce and reinforce the message that the Isle of Man produces some of the best seafood in the world.” The BBC Good Food Show is the UK’s biggest celebration of food and drink and its November show attracts in excess of 100,000 people all shopping with Christmas in mind! The Show will be packed with plenty to see, do, taste and buy and the Show theatres will play host to some of the country’s top chefs and culinary stars. Paddy’s will once again be holding a Christmas Market on the quay in Port St Mary between 7pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday 22 December. All the usual fishy favourites will be on sale plus lots of festive fun and attractions for all the family.
