Callan Cooper Bidding To Be First Manx MotoGP Rider

Burnley-based RCD Motorsport will be joining forces with the current ThundersportGB GP3 champions FPW Racing to compete in the British 125GP Championship. Mark Hodgson of RCD Motorsport is no stranger to the BSB paddock and has won numerous British titles from 1992-2001 Mark ran some highly talented 125gp riders that included, Les Woods, Darren Barton, Chris Burns, Leon Camier and obviously his son Neil who was British 125GP champion in 1992. FPW Racings current rider and ThundersportGB 125GP Champion, Tom Carne, will be joined by 14 yr old Callan Cooper from Ramsey and will ride under the RCD Motorsport / FPW Racing banner. The riders will also benefit from being mentored throughout the season by the 2003 World Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson. Neil will use his vast knowledge of 125 GP racing, which included winning the British Championship and racing in the FIM World 125gp Championship, to assist both riders with all aspects of being modern day motorcycle racer, including fitness and media exposure. Both riders have strong links with Neil Hodgson with Tom Carne being a fellow East Lancashire lad, while Callan Cooper is a fellow resident of the Isle of Man and where Neil first spotted his talents. The collaboration between RCD, FPW Racing and Neil Hodgson is a long term project aimed at taking these talented young riders and maximising their potential. Ends
