Choc Tactics Raise ?3,500 for Age Concern Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 9th December 2010
Subscribing to the theory that you can never have enough chocolate, Age Concern Isle of Man held a chocoholics night at the Mount Murray Hotel. The charity is now savouring the sweet taste of fundraising success to the tune of ?3,500 thanks to the generosity of guests and the Mount Murray Hotel, HSBC, Chris Wilson who was responsible for printing the promotional material, Jack Frost, Davison’s, Shoprite, Finishing Touches and Event Lighting Services Limited, the latter helping create a suitably seductive setting for guests to enjoy the ultimate endorphin rush. Casting inhibitions aside and risking massive dry cleaning bills devotees of the cocoa bean - including members of the Curvy Riders all-female motorcycle club out for a pre-Christmas celebration and others from the MG Owners’ Club - got to grips with a chocolate fountain, joined in chocolate-themed games organised by committed Age Concern Isle of Man supporter Louise Amaral from IFG, were treated to numbers from Kelly Lawson, Heaven Scent and Mark Walton and danced to sounds from DJ and Department of Community Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK who had escaped from the corridors of power for one night only. All in all an evening that boosted waistlines…and Age Concern Isle of Man’s funds. - Ends -
