What Can You Do With 3500 White Plastic Bags?

by isleofman.com 10th December 2010
If you are the Island's WI's, then the answer is knit an ice cave! Members have been busy cutting up and looping unwanted white plastic bags into yarn to knit with very, very large needles into strips for an ice cave, which is taking shape in the Wurlitzer Room of the Villa Marina Arcade. This spectacular construction is part of the Razzle Dazzle event this weekend, when over thirty WI's are competing to decorate the sparkliest Christmas tree. These will be on display on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 am till 4.00 pm and then auctioned by Hon. Noel Cringle, with the proceeds being shared between the WI and the Gaiety Restoration Fund. If you would like a tree decorated with the ingenuity and renowned crafting skills of the WI, then come and grab a bargain! - Ends -
