Vagabonds Ladies Big Push fundraiser

by isleofman.com 13th December 2010
On Sunday 12th December, Vagabonds Ladies Rugby Team will be taking part in "The Big Push", sponsored by SMP Partners. THe team will be attempting to walk the distance of the End to End (40 miles) along Douglas promenade in 12 hours or less, starting at 8am. To make it more interesting, they will be doing this in groups, pushing our team mates in wheelbarrows! All funds raised will help Vagabonds ladies meet the costs associated in playing the UK leagues. The team play up to 7 matches in the UK per season, at the cost of approx ?2,900 per match. Unlike the mens teams, whose travel is fully funded, the ladies only received a small amount of financial assistance from the RFU. The rest comes from the club, the ladies own contributions to their travel, and from fund raising events such as this one. Please help support this event and help to keep the team on competing! Ends
