Public Notice to Residents of Braddan
Issued by Braddan Parish Commissioners
Poor weather conditions- Contingency Planning
With the predicted inclement weather the following arrangements have been made for both refuse collection in Braddan, and the provision of additional salt grit for domestic users to supplement the Department of Infrastructure’s yellow road side bins.
Refuse
With regard to the collection of trade refuse from the businesses in Braddan, due to the predicted snow fall on Thursday night the normal collection day has been changed from Friday 17th to Thursday 16th.
The domestic bin collection usually takes place on Monday’s, but in case there is no collection due to poor road conditions, large bins will be left in strategic places around the Parish on Thursday 16th to help residents cope with any extra waste.

Salt grit
The Department of Infrastructure is responsible for the maintence of the highways, and the main routes and thoroughfares will no doubt be prioritised if the road conditions are poor.
Whilst the Department provides numerous yellow salt bins along the roadsides for domestic use, the Commissioners have decided to supplement these with large bags of salt grit left beside the additional refuse bins if there are none in close proximity.
Salt grit is also available at the Eastern Civic Amenity Site at Middle River Industrial Estate in Douglas.
The Commissioners endorse the recent statement of Minister Gawne MHK who urged people to use the salt provided to treat their own paths and drives, and asking them to take a little time to put salt on the footpath outside their own property, and further if possible.
This information is published on Braddan Commissioners website www.braddan.gov.im but if there are any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the office during normal office hours on 852808.
