Manx Telecom Appoints UK Business Development Sales Manager

by isleofman.com 15th December 2010
Manx Telecom has appointed Paul Craig as Business Development Sales Manager in the UK. He has 28 years experience in the telecoms industry and his new role will be to expand the company’s business in the UK. In particular, he will be looking for new customers for Manx Telecom’s strongest signal SIM cards and its Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) service. The strongest signal SIM card can roam across mobile networks using the strongest signal available in any particular area, which means there is very little chance of ever being unable to make and receive mobile calls. It is used by the emergency services and businesses which need reliable mobile coverage regardless of location. MVNOs provide a mobile service to their customers without themselves owning a mobile spectrum licence, or necessarily any mobile network infrastructure. Many well known mobile Phone brands, such as Tesco Mobile and Virgin Mobile, are MVNOs. Paul said he was enjoying his new role and looking forward to identifying additional UK markets for Manx Telecom. He said: “The Manx Telecom brand is already well known and respected in the UK telecoms sector. My role will be to build on this reputation and widen the audience for the innovative products which we provide.” Prior to joining Manx Telecom, Paul was Head of Development at Intechnology PLC - Mobile Services, a post he held for three years. Before that he was Head of Sales and Marketing at iNVOMO, and from 2001 to 2005 worked for BT’s wholesale markets division where he was Head of Mobility Markets. Marcus Warren, Director of Sales and Marketing at Manx Telecom, said: “Paul has a proven track record in the telecoms industry and we are confident that he will identify many new opportunities for Manx Telecom in the UK. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role and we regard his appointment as making a valuable addition to our ambitions to expand our business off-Island, not just in the UK, but also in the global market.” - ENDS -
