Work on the new Celton Manx Headquarters is underway with Minister for Economic Development, Hon Allan Bell MHK performing the official ‘sod cutting’ on site.
At present, the online Sports Betting and Casino products supplier is based in Malew Street, Castletown, but the new headquarters will be located at Cooil Smithy which forms part of The Isle of Man Business Park on the outskirts of Douglas in a purpose built 6100 sq ft development.
The project is being built and managed by Dandara Commercial Limited who have been working closely with Celton Manx Executive Director, Bill Mummery for the past 12 months on the design and planning of the development. The building design presents a blend of traditional and modern materials to create a building that is sympathetic to its surroundings, and will incorporate a Manx stone facade.
Mr Mummery said: ‘This is a momentous day for Celton Manx as it marks the beginning of us planting our permanent roots in the Isle of Man. I would like to thank Minister Bell for taking time out of his busy schedule to perform the official sod cutting today. We are proud to be headquartered in the Island and the continued growth and success of our business is testament to the close working relationship we enjoy with the Isle of Man Government. The Isle of Man is a well regulated and internationally recognised jurisdiction from which we are proud to operate.’
‘We are delighted to be working with another strong Manx company on our new headquarters and I have had the privilege of working closely with the team from Dandara Commercial Ltd over the past year to develop a modern, bespoke building that will meet our exact requirements for the future. These are exciting times for our business and I am very much looking forward to watching the development take shape over the coming months.’
Managing Director of Dandara Commercial Ltd, Seamus Nugent said: ‘We are delighted to thank Celton Manx for their commitment to Dandara Commercial Ltd and the Isle of Man Business Park in their quest to relocate to a high quality corporate headquarters. Dandara Commercial Ltd welcomes the opportunity to work with Celton Manx and looks forward to providing a bespoke facility on the Isle of Man Business Park worthy of housing one of the Island’s premier companies in the burgeoning Manx eGaming sector.’
Construction on site is due to commence at the end of November with an estimated build time of 40 weeks, it is hoped that the building will be completed by late summer 2011. Overall the two storey building will cover a total of 6100 sq ft and incorporate 30 car parking spaces.
Minister for Economic Development Allan Bell MHK, who performed the official sod cutting said, ‘I would like to thank Bill Mummery and the team at Celton Manx for asking me to perform this ceremony. These new headquarters represent a very public display of the company’s confidence in the Isle of Man and is a further indication of the growing importance of e-gaming to the Island. The plans for the new headquarters look very impressive and I look forward to returning here once the building is completed.’
