Burglary at Kewaigue Primary School - School Laptops and TV Stolen

by isleofman.com 16th December 2010
The police are appealing for information regarding a Burglary which occurred at Kewaigue Primary School sometime between 20.30hrs on Wednesday 15th December 2010 and 08.30hrs on Thursday 16th December 2010. A window on a mobile classroom at the rear of the main school building was smashed and several items were taken including a Television and 5 apple macbook pro Laptops. The laptops are very recognisable as they are white in colour and are used in schools only and are not for sale on the general market. Additionally the laptops were numbered 30-34 which was written in the top left hand corner in Permanent marker. PC Thommeny of the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team is interested in speaking to anyone who may have knowledge of the crime or anyone who may have been offered a laptop for sale. The laptops are pretty much useless outside of the classroom environment PC Thommeny said “This is a terrible crime to happen at anytime however what makes it sad on this occasion is the fact these laptops are used by young children wanting to learn at school, and ultimately it will be them who lose out as the cost to replace the items will have to come from other areas of the school budget. I also would like to remind the public to keep their property secure and to make sure valuable belongings are not on show to anyone looking in” ENDS
