Charity ‘Wish Upon A Dream’ is benefiting from a ?500 safety award won by Manx Gas after staff at the company overwhelmingly decided that the money should go to the Island-based charity for sick children. Manx Gas won the silver award from International Energy Group, its parent company, for no ‘lost time injuries’ over a nine months period. “We already hold the bronze award and over the next nine months we’re looking to win the gold award and a prize of ?1000,” said sales and marketing manager Gary Cregeen. “We are so very grateful for the ?500 donation which will make a difference to the life of four-year-old Ellie Mai who suffers from West syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy,” said Lesley Turnbull, founder of ‘Wish Upon A Dream’ She added: “It means she will be able to play without injuring herself as the donation will go towards special play equipment and fulfil a dream for Ellie Mai and her parents.” ENDS
