by isleofman.com 22nd December 2010
As part of the Isle of Man Government Department of Economic Development’s ambition to expand its e-Gaming sector, the Isle of Man will be showcasing its offering at the forthcoming ICE event at Earls Court, London from 25-27 January 2011. The Isle of Man is home to 24 licensed e-Gaming operators as well as a wide range of related businesses. The event represents a great opportunity for the Isle of Man to present its strong business proposition and demonstrate that it is a flexible jurisdiction which has developed its regulatory environment to ensure it is compatible with a variety of gaming platforms. It also offers an invaluable chance to discuss with businesses, face to face, the benefits of relocating to the Isle of Man and foster strong ties with these companies. Representatives from the Government’s Department of Economic Development e-Gaming Development Team, including Garth Kimber, Head of e-Gaming Development, will be supported at the show by the presence of several Isle of Man companies across the key disciplines of, software provision, data hosting, payment services, recruitment and corporate and consultancy services. The Isle of Man delegation can be found at stand 5530. Allan Bell MHK, Minister for the Isle of Man’s Department of Economic Development, said: “The e-Gaming sector on the Island has grown significantly in 2010 and we are confident that it will continue to do the same in 2011. ICE is a key event in the e-Gaming calendar for the Isle of Man and our strong presence at this show allows us to communicate our proposition with key decision makers in the e-Gaming industry. The team attending, which includes Alex Downie MLC who has my delegated responsibility for the e-gaming industry, will be there to welcome anyone to the stand who wants to find out more about the Island as a premier e-Gaming jurisdiction, and we look forward to building new relationships with an ever-diverse range of businesses.” Head of e-Gaming Development Garth Kimber added, “e-Gaming is about much more than licensing in the Isle of Man. We actively support a wide range of businesses to establish and grow in our jurisdiction and many of these do not require a licence but still benefit from the supportive business environment that we provide. We welcome enquiries at ICE from all kinds of ventures.” Refer to www.iomegaming.im for more information and to book appointments with the Development Team. -Ends-
