by isleofman.com 22nd December 2010
The last Steam Train of 2010 rolls out of Douglas on Thursday 30th December. If you feel you’ve spent too long inside at Christmas, with mince pies and the TV remote control then the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure invites you to try a refreshing start to the New Year weekend with a trip down to Castletown. Join us on the train and ‘Blow Away the Cobwebs’! Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure commented: “Whether it’s a trip to Castletown for some lunch, a refreshing walk along Scarlett or taking advantage of the magnificent views from the carriage window, this year’s Blow Away the Cobwebs special is a great family day out and a great way to see off 2010 and start the New Year.” This revitalising service departs Douglas on Thursday 30th December at 11:20 and the return departs Castletown at 14:30. Tickets are available in advance from the Welcome Centre or on the day from Douglas Station, tickets cost ?9.20 adults and ?4.60 children, no concessions available. -Ends-
