Redal Cycle incident

Approx. 1.30pm Monday 3rd January 2011, an incident occurred on the Whitebridge Hill, Main Road, Onchan, involving a male cyclist, who was travelling towards Laxey. It is understood that the cyclist suffered an illness, resulting in him colliding with the nearside hedge and coming off his machine. The cyclist was taken to Nobles Hospital by ambulance for treatment. The scene was closed to vehicular traffic for approx. half an hour to assist Police and Ambulance staff to deal with the patient. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding as a result of the road closure. ENDS
