New Name for Douglas Accountancy Practice

by isleofman.com 5th January 2011
Horwath Clark Whitehill has changed its name to Crowe Clark Whitehill. The change, which came into effect in late 2010, was necessary after the International network adopted ‘Crowe’ rather than ‘Horwath’ as the global brand. Managing director Roger Barrs said: ‘From a client perspective there is no change. However, the name Crowe Clark Whitehill will have a greater international resonance under the Crowe name and serve as a clear declaration of intent that the firm is determined to position itself as a leading mid-tier global player. At the same time the name will acknowledge the respected heritage, market knowledge and technical expertise associated with the name Clark Whitehill which has been in existence for more than 130 years in the UK and which has had a presence in the Island since 1983. ‘Here in the Isle of Man our audit and taxation services will continue to underpin the business while the wider Crowe International network will be looking to expand into sectors such as media, property and construction. In summary, the re-branding strengthens our long-standing Isle of Man links and presents us with exciting opportunities to grow the business.’ Separately, for the second year in succession Crowe Clark Whitehill in the UK has won Mid-tier Auditor of the Year in the 2010 Finance Directors’ Excellence Awards. Produced in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and supported by the Confederation of British Industry and RealBusiness magazine, the FDs’ Excellence Awards are considered the most prestigious of their kind in the financial management community. Mr Barrs said: ‘Our national firm also won the award in 2005 so to be acknowledged three times by one’s peers is not only supremely rewarding but also an endorsement of our core values of client focus and quality of service.’ www.crowecw.im Ends
