Peel Online Photography Competition

by isleofman.com 7th January 2011
The popular Peel Online photography competition has now completed its sixth successful year and Jackie O'Halloran, lead member for recreation on Peel Town Commissioners has judged the entries from the last year. Jackie chose three wonderful photos from a very high standard of entries. John Bennett's image of Fenella beach with dramatic skies and setting sun was awarded the ?50 top prize. Second prize went to Tony Faragher for his image Easter Day in the Bay, and Peter McEvoy picks up third prize for his photograph of sheep on Peel Hill with a backdrop of Fenella beach and the castle. Thanks to all entrants who continue to help us show the rest of the world what a beautiful place Peel is to live. Entries are now open for the 2011 competition - send them to photos@peelonline.net and see peelonline.net for the full rules. As part of continued efforts to support and help build various parts of the community in Peel, the Commissioners, are currently looking to help local businesses improve their online presence, and make it easier for locals to find local services and tradesmen online. Over the next weeks the Commissioners will be contacting local businesses to explain more, ask a few questions, and provide assistance where necessary. More details and updates will also appear on peelonline.net soon. You can now also join the Peel online community by joining the Facebook page at fb.peelonline.net, and by following on Twitter - search for @PeelOnline ENDS
