by isleofman.com 18th January 2011
NEW YEAR, NEW RECORDS FOR MANX2.COM Manx2.com has already begun building on its achievements of 2010 by taking more bookings in one week than ever before as people book their summer holiday flights. In a soaring start to 2011, the Isle of Man-based company, who carried more than 100,000 passengers in 2010, took record bookings during the first week in January and then proceeded to break the record again last week. And Monday 17th of January was the single busiest day in the airline’s history, receiving an unparalleled number of bookings for the year ahead. Manx2.com Chairman, Noel Hayes said: ‘Despite numerous challenges, we did expand in 2010 and having got the year off to a fantastic start, 2011 looks set to be above and beyond previous achievements. We’re very grateful to our regular customers for their continuing support and we will be busy at numerous travel shows and key events throughout the year promoting the Island in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development to help generate new business and leisure visitors for the Island. ‘We’re looking forward to growing our services, we have kerbside check-in facilities due for launch in March and we’re currently exploring an extended summer service between the Isle of Man and Anglesey.’ Later this year, Manx2 will team up with Gloucester Airport in an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the fastest airport to transit through in the world.
