The Manx Wildlife Trust is holding a traditional ceilidh at the Castletown Civic Hall at 7.15pm for 7.30pm on Saturday, 5 March 2011, to raise funds for its vital, nature conservation work on the Island. During the evening, there will be dancing to the Calor Gas Ceilidh Band with lots of exercise guaranteed if you’re still struggling to lose those extra Christmas calories…and don’t worry if you’re not sure of the dance steps as there will be a caller on hand to help! Tickets for the event, costing ?12.50 each, are available from the Wildlife Shop or the charity’s office, both based at Tynwald Mills, St Johns (tel. 801985) and include a beef hotpot supper (vegetarian option available, please advise at the time of booking) and first drink. Further drinks will be available for a donation. Even on our beautiful Island, much of our wildlife is under threat and struggling to survive. The Manx Wildlife Trust is working hard to protect rare animals and plants such as corncrakes and orchids, to save places where wildlife is especially threatened and to restore natural beauty to derelict land. So, do join in the fun at the Castletown Civic Hall and help raise funds to allow the Manx Wildlife Trust to continue to protect Manx wildlife for the future. Ends
