A Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) expert is set to address important issues affecting the industry in two special presentations.
The Isle of Man will play host to CIM Head of Research Mark Blayney Stuart on February 9th 2011 when he will make presentations on two of the hottest topics affecting the marketing profession.
Mark Blayney Stuart will present ‘The Future of Digital Marketing’, organised and hosted by the Isle of Man CIM branch, at the Sefton Hotel at 12.30pm.
In this special CIM Centenary presentation, Mark Blayney Stuart will tap into the success stories of the digital landscape, how it affects us today, and might do in the future. The event, which is sponsored by isleofman.com, will include lunch. CIM members can attend free of charge, students ?10 and non-members and guests ?25.
CIM Isle of Man Chair Cathy Cowin said: “After 100 years in existence, the Institute has seen many trends come and go, but perhaps the greatest media revolution in its history has been the arrival of the Internet and the digital marketing age. Organisations have boomed or bust as a result and we now happily buy things on the recommendation of a ‘robot’ or someone we’ve never met before. But actually, we’re responding to the collective human voice, which could not be heard until the ‘robot’ amplified it. Identifying this insight is what is leading the greatest digital organisations to success.”
On the evening of 9th February, Mark Blayney Stuart will address members and guests of the Institute of Directors at the Claremont Hotel on ‘Marketing’s Role in the Boardroom’.
The presentation will address how the lack of marketing’s presence in the boardroom is a familiar issue, which doesn’t seem to be going away. Using case studies and best practice examples, Mark Blayney Stuart’s talk will argue that any company needs a representative of the customer on the board to ensure that strategies are built that bear the customer in mind.
