Praise For Peel Lifeboat Crew

Allen Corlett the Lifeboat Operations Manager at Peel lifeboat station has received a letter of congratulations from Michael Vlasto the RNLI Operations Director. The letter, congratulating the Peel crew under the leadership of Paul Cain ,who rescued the yacht “Windswept” on October 8th 2010. In gale force winds the crew managed to connect a tow to the yacht which had suffered both engine and steering failure. The yacht with 4 people on board was on passage from Scotland to Wales and was wallowing in force 9 gales when the Peel boat began the tow back to Peel marina. The yacht crew were suffering seasickness and on arrival at Peel were attended by the ambulance. The lifeboat was at sea from 9 30pm. until 1.00am the following morning. Michael Vlasto said “The conditions meant this was a challenging service for Paul and his crew. This service was conducted in a most efficient and professional manner by all concerned. , and they are to be congratulated on my behalf. Well done all of you” Ends
