Tynwald Working ‘Smarter’

by isleofman.com 26th January 2011
Interactive Tynwald order papers are now available online. The Office of the Clerk of Tynwald has introduced a facility where the order papers, available in electronic form 12 days in advance of sittings in the Official Papers section of Tynwald’s website, www.tynwald.org.im, now include hyperlinks to all associated documentation. Jo Corkish, head of the Tynwald Information Service, said: ‘Providing order papers online enhances service delivery by offering easier accessibility and greater choice in where and how the documents may be viewed and received. As the Tynwald Library now receives electronic copies of official papers from Isle of Man Government departments it has been possible to reduce printing and distribution levels by approximately 650,000 sheets per year.’ The online facility does not replace but is complementary to the service provided by the Tynwald Library from where order papers can be obtained. The library is accessed from the Finch Road entrance to Legislative Buildings and is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Ends
