Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill.

The House of Keys has established a Committee on the Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill. The members of the Committee are: Mr Chris Robertshaw MHK (Chairman); Mrs Brenda Cannell MHK; and Mr Quintin Gill MHK. The Committee will examine all the provisions of the Bill and report back to the House. It will examine the provisions of the Bill in sections covering different topics as follows: ? Police and police powers: especially Clauses 24 and 25, 37 to 61 and Clause 76; ? Licensing: especially Clauses 27 to 35; ? Sex offences: especially Clauses 5, 20 to 23; ? Drug offences: especially Clauses 13 and 14; ? Community safety: especially Clauses 3 and 4, 7 and 8, 9, 12, 19, 62 to 72, 77; ? Miscellaneous amendments to the law: Clauses 6, 10 and 11, 15 to 18,26, 36,73 to 75, 78. Some of these Clauses may be classified as being in more than one category. The Committee invites the public to submit written evidence to it in relation to matters contained in the Bill. Any written submissions should be received by Friday 25th February. Unless otherwise made clear, the Committee will assume that all those who send in written evidence consent to have it published. Oral evidence sessions will be arranged in due course. Ends
