Mobile Applications and the Isle of Man

The next event will host Mr Andrew Gleave from Red Robot Studios, a Creative Web Development Agency with a focus on native iPhone/iPad applications and web based mobile development. The company is an export led star software development house and was responsible for the Legends of Suzuki TT mobile app. Mr Gleave will talk about iPhone, Google Android, marketplaces, how to bypass marketplace fees, location based services and lessons learned. A discussion will follow which will centre on the Isle of Man. Topics will include: - favourite mobile apps - mobile advertising - location based advertising (GSM triangulation and GPS) - mobile banking - NFC payments (London Oyster and Hong Kong Octopus) - an export led mGovernment strategy - Please submit any advance questions and areas of interest by email to events-at-bcs.org.im The talk is to be held on Monday 31st January 2011 at the Sanderson Suite, Claremont Hotel, Douglas Promenade, Douglas. Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6:30pm start. Light refreshments will be provided. Attendance is free and open to the public. The event is expected to complete by 8:00pm. Ends
