Tourism in the Isle of Man received a boost this weekend as the Sefton Group joined forces with the visitisleofman.com team at the largest holiday show ever to be held in Ireland.
The event, opened by Ireland’s Tourism Minister, Mary Hanafin, brought in more than 50,000 potential holidaymakers to the RDS Simmonscourt Pavilion over three days.
The Isle of Man stand was manned by representatives from the Government’s tourism division, the Sefton Group, Manx2 and the Steam Packet Company, who were on hand to speak to potential visitors about what the Island has to offer. There was also a competition to win a short break, including accommodation at The Sefton.
Sefton Group Sales Manager Naomi Finch said: ‘We were delighted by how busy the stand was throughout the three days. We spoke to lots of people who hadn’t visited the Island for many years, who wanted to come back and relive those happy memories and see how much it has changed. There were also a surprising number of people who have never visited before, despite the short journey across the Irish Sea.
‘I also attended last weekend’s Holiday World Show in Belfast, with my colleague Sian Rose, so we’re hoping to welcome lots of visitors from the adjacent isle, and elsewhere, in the coming months.’
The Sefton Group operates three hotels in the Isle of Man, including prestigious four star The Sefton and Suites and the recently renamed four star Palace Hotel ? Casino complex, which are both based on Douglas seafront. The Sefton Express is the Island’s only airport hotel, located across the road from Isle of Man Airport.
