St John Ambulance Combined Cadet and Badger Division for Ramsey

by isleofman.com 10th February 2011
Ramsey is to have a new St John Ambulance Combined Cadet and Badger division. The division will be based at the Air Cadet Force (ACF) unit at Auldyn School, Gladstone Road where it will be launched at an open evening on Friday February 18 from 6 to 8pm. The event will provide an opportunity for interested parties to meet with Badgers, Cadets and division leaders together with St John Ambulance members, look around a St John Ambulance vehicle, talk to the crew and take part in first-aid demonstrations. Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘We welcome this latest initiative by St John Ambulance. We are delighted that the young people of Ramsey are being given an opportunity to develop their life-saving skills and benefit from such a worthwhile and instructive community activity. On behalf of my fellow Commissioners I wish St John Ambulance and their new recruits every success.’ The St John Ambulance Badger set (for five to 10-year-olds) will meet every Friday during the school term from 6 to 7pm and the Cadet division (for 10 to 17-year-olds) from 7 to 8.30pm.
