‘Steady As She Goes’ Session

by isleofman.com 11th February 2011
There’s a new Manx traditional music session for people who want to try out Manx music. If you already know how to play an instrument and want to learn Manx session tunes at a steadier pace rather than being plunged into the lightning speeds of established sessions, why not come along to the Tynwald Inn, St Johns, on Fridays 6.45 - 8pm from 18 February. Initially designed for a 6 week period, the session is a way to learn some of the core tunes in a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be approaching tunes (and maybe some songs) at a steady pace so that we can build up a repertoire and confidence at the same time. The Phynnodderee session is straight afterwards – usually starts 8.30pm, so you can stay and make a night of it. For further details, please contact: MHF Manx Music Development Officer, Breesha Maddrell on 695784 or mhfmusic@mhf.org.im or just come along! www.manxmusic.com -ends-
