Archery Report

by isleofman.com 14th February 2011
This weeks Worcester handicap round had a good turnout despite some archers off Island and some with injury problems. Firstly four personal bests achieved this by Charlotte Harris she managed to put a massive 58 points on her best, Kate Dawe shot her first Worcester round and puts in a very creditable score and next up is Alice Crowe this is only her second full competition and she puts in a great show and next Adam Wright putting 15 points on his. The handicap system works on archers scores over the weeks and is updated every time they shoot this is so that someone shooting on their handicap would score 1440 anyone over this score has shot well and under the score would mean they are shooting under the best this in fact makes recurve and compound equal. Charlotte Harris topped the table this week with an outstanding performance followed by a fantastic shoot by Kate Dawe and a draw for the third step of the podium between Aalin George and Sarah Rigby this is the third week in a row the George and Rigby have tied on points there is no separating these pair. Next up Adrian Bruce this being the first time he’s shot since the commonwealth games takes forth with Tony Hartley biting at his heals young Adam Wright shows his grow form followed by Barbara Harris, Colin Moore, Anne Rutland and Alice Crowe who hasn’t got her handicap rating this week but will have it the next time she shoots, also shooting this week was Adrian Breed deciding to shoot his second Portsmouth round. Worcester handicap results Charlotte Harris 59 184 8 1478 PB Kate Dawe 60 207 10 1442 PB Aalin George 60 297 57 1437 Sarah Rigby 60 297 57 1437 Adrian Bruce 60 294 54 1434 Tony Hartley 60 269 31 1430 Adam Wright 60 196 8 1427 PB Barbara Harris 60 227 16 1416 Colin Moore 60 226 13 1415 Anne Rutland 59 226 14 1402 Alice Crowe 57 159 8 N/H PB Portsmouth round Adrian Breed 56 392 1 Next weeks Round is a Portsmouth round for the handicap league at Onchan Community Sports Hall and the start times are 10am setup for a 10:30 start morning shoot and 1:30 for 2pm start afternoon shoot.
