The Strand Group has recently received the ISO27001:2005 certification as part of their ongoing commitment to superior customer service.
The standard provides independent verification for the quality of the information security management systems in place within Strand Group. This is becoming more important for many clients as it ensures adequate and proportionate security controls are established for the purposes of protecting information assets handled by the business.
Strand Group’s managing director, Graeme Snape, commented, “Strand Group have always treated data protection and information security as a priority. It was really important for us, and our customers, that we received independent verification of the security systems we have in place and are delighted to have been awarded ISO27001:2005 certification.”
The official recognition covers the document destruction and storage, digital scanning, data management, IT destruction, cleaning and facilities management arms of the business. It is particularly relevant to Strand’s secure document destruction and storage business and the new scanning facility. Gary Bews, Manager of Scanning added, “It is a requirement for many businesses to store records for a number of years. With businesses looking at scanning and digital storage for greater efficiencies comes the need for rigorous and evolving security systems to protect the data. ISO27001:2005 demonstrates Strand Group’s ability to protect and secure data not only in a physical format but also digitally.”
