Assault 6th February 2011

by isleofman.com 15th February 2011
Police are investigating an incident which occurred between midnight and 1am on Sunday the 6th February in Market Street, Douglas close to the rear of Marks & Spencer’s. A female aged in her mid 20’s is alleged to have been the victim of an assault. The Police are requesting assistance from any member of the public who was in the area between those times and seen or heard anything which may be of interest to the investigation. In particular two members of the public have been walking down Market Street towards Chester Street Car Park. We would also like to speak to a person who was cycling down Market Street again towards Chester Street Car Park during the times mentioned. Additionally, several taxis have driven down Market Street in the direction of Victoria Street one of which was a Transit or Mercedes van size large taxi. The police would urge these drivers or passengers to come forward. If it helps with remembering, there was a Six Nations Rugby match on the evening of Saturday 5th February between France and Scotland. Anyone who was in the area at the time and who has any information is requested to contact Detective Constable Dawn LOWE in the CID office at Police Headquarters, Douglas on 631316. Ends
