Highly Succesful SOS Appeal For Peel RNLI

With money still being handed in Peels fund raising effort during the RNLI SOS appeal has been declared a great success. In line with the national appeal which kicked off on 28th.January Peel crew and fund raising team are currently counting the proceeds of their efforts. With help from a coffee morning held at St Patricks Church hall which raised ?318, an SOS quiz held at Peel Legion ?343, a Tesco collection ?203, a crew car wash ?707, Creek Inn bingo also ?707. Magnificent support from Western Swimming Club raised ?1225 during a sponsored swim. Western school children were also involved with Peel Clothworkers raising ?369 and Bunscoill Gaelgagh School ?156. The Peel crew were also involved in a National triathlon event with station based events including 8 miles rowing, 8 miles running and 8 miles cycling. At the time of going to press this event had raised about ?400 and still counting. Also included in the day’s festivities was the Deeply Dippy dip by members of 3fm and supporters. This was a dip at every station on the Island and this event last year raised ?10,000 for the RNLI. The Peel crew and committee would like to thank all the people who supported these events and for their generous donations which at the moment are ?4430. Ends
