Archery Report

by isleofman.com 21st February 2011
This weeks Portsmouth handicap round had a good turnout despite some archers off Island and some with injury problems. The handicap system works on archers scores over the weeks and is updated every time they shoot this is so that someone shooting on their handicap would score 1440 anyone over this score has shot well and under the score would mean they are shooting under the best this in fact makes recurve and compound disciplines equal as well as experienced and beginners. With three personal best being achieved this week coming from Kate Dawe putting a massive 29 points on her best Charlotte Harris puts 18 points on hers and Anne Rutland equals her best but puts another gold on it. And as for the podium slots this week they were all take by ladies recurve archers taking top spot was Pauline Hustings shooting just under her pb but above her handicap, the runners-up spot goes to Kate Dawe shooting a pb and above her handicap, and the last spot on the podium goes to junior archer Charlotte Harris. Portsmouth handicap result Pauline Hustings 51 286 1 1471 Kate Dawe 60 487 8 1467 PB Charlotte Harris 60 433 7 1457 PB Bradley Layton 60 460 6 1447 Anne Rutland 60 547 23 1446 PB Tony Hartley 60 563 30 1439 Aalin George 60 572 32 1432 Sarah Rigby 60 571 31 1430 Charlotte George 60 565 30 1425 Barbara Harris 60 509 10 1424 Allan George 60 567 24 1421 Colin Moore 59 486 6 1403 Adam Wright 60 422 5 1396 Adrian Breed 56 325 2 1395 This weekend the Isle of Man Archery Club will be holding its annual personal improvement weekend with two coaches from the UK Tony Drabble and Clive Jeacock whom some of you may remember.
