SMP Partners, one of the Island’s leading providers of corporate and professional services, have recently promoted David Hudson to the board of the group company, SMP Group Limited with responsibility for the Group’s business development.
David has been with SMP Partners since he returned to the Island with his family in 2005. During his time with the company he has been responsible for business development activities primarily in new sectors and new geographical markets. He has supported the development of the Group’s brand profile in both the Isle of Man and London’s professional market and more recently he has led the Group’s drive into the e-gaming sector; a sector in which SMP Partners and their recently acquired subsidiary, Amber, have become the leading providers of corporate and professional services.
Steve McGowan, Chairman of the SMP Group commenting on David’s promotion said, “This is a significant appointment for our Group and David will be a valuable addition to our executive team. Over the last six years David has made a significant contribution to our business; since our management buy out three years ago he has played a key role in the development and promotion of the SMP Partners’ brand both on Island and further afield and in the creation of new markets and revenue streams.”
“The drive into e-gaming has been a remarkable success for our business and the development of similar niche areas of capability will be an important part of David’s role going forward. In these uncertain times, it is important for our Group that we continue to look further afield than our traditional markets and to diversify our revenue streams and geographic footprint. As an independently owned business we are well placed to flex and change as markets and economic times dictate and to move quickly when opportunities present themselves.”
Speaking of his appointment, David said “SMP Partners is a unique business, characterised by a team of exceptionally knowledgeable professionals working together to deliver a comprehensive and professional service to a diverse, international client base. I am extremely excited and enthused about being invited to join the Group board and look forward to working closely with the executive team to build on the company’s successes and to take it forward with new service offerings and entry into new emerging markets.”
