The Isle of Man Council of Voluntary Organisations Presents its 2011 – 2012 Training Programme.
The Isle of Man Council of Voluntary Organisations officially opened their new training programme to charity, voluntary and faith organisations and wider audiences on Monday 21st February, at the new imuseum.
The council is a local body whose membership is made up of charity, voluntary and faith groups on the island, that works to provide a voice for the third sector.
Its latest development is an exciting new training programme specifically developed for the third sector by the CVO in association with the Children’s Centre Social Enterprise, CPD and the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development. The courses aim to provide a series of training opportunities to third sector and statutory organisations but can be opened up to a wider audience. Courses available include Effective Fundraising Skills; Industrial Relations Q & A, Influential Presentation Skills, Developing your Teams and Effective Mentoring and cover a two year period starting on Friday 25th February 2011. Thanks to the generous support from the Isle of Man Government, course fees have been kept low in order to make them available to all.
Minister Alan Bell from the Department of Economic Development opened the launch and gave praise to the third sector for the added value it brings to the economy and also to the residents of the Isle of Man for their community spirit and generous support of our island’s charities.
To book a place on a course or for further information regarding the various courses on offer or the CVO, please call Nicola Libreri on 673103 or email cvo@manx.net.
