As final preparations are made for the Royal Wedding in April, the Sefton Group has also started 2011 with romance in mind. As well as giving away luxury prizes, many couples planning future nuptials were given plenty of ideas at The Sefton’s Wedding Fair.
Held in the hotel’s impressive Atrium, exhibitors and staff were on hand to offer information and advice on making a ‘big day’ perfect, including fabulous flowers, stunning dresses and memorable music. Those attending also had the opportunity to enter a competition to win an overnight stay for two, with breakfast, which was won by Louise Glover and her partner.
Group Sales and Marketing Manager, Naomi Finch, said: ‘2011 seems to be a popular year to get married and we welcomed lots of people who were keen to start laying down plans and make bookings.
‘We’re pleased the competition went down well – we hope Louise and her partner have a wonderful time.’
Last month the Atlantis Restaurant turned to social media to ensure one couple enjoyed a romantic night out on Valentine’s Day.
The Atlantis, which is part of the Palace Hotel & Casino complex, ran a Facebook competition, asking couples to send in a romantic picture of themselves. The restaurant has 2,600 ‘followers’ on Facebook, who were then invited to vote for their favourite photograph.
The winning couple were Charlie and Elisa Kneale, of Bride, who were invited for a three-course meal – and champagne, of course – on Valentine’s Day, along with a night in the hotel and breakfast the following morning.
Palace Hotel & Casino Managing Director Adrian Brockhouse said: ‘The number of people who follow the Atlantis on Facebook shows just how popular it is. Facebook offers a superb way of staying in touch with our customers, keeping them up-to-date with what’s going on at the restaurant.
‘We are looking to make more use of social media, not just for the Palace Hotel & Casino, but the Sefton Group as a whole.’
In total, 75 photographs were entered into the competition and overall there were 3,203 ‘like’ votes cast.
Mr Kneale said: ‘We were thrilled to discover so many people had voted for our photograph. We enjoyed a great night out at the Atlantis. It’s fantastic that the restaurant is using sites like Facebook to engage its customers and dream up competitions such as these. It cost us nothing to enter, and we ended up winning a romantic night out for two – which of course meant I had more money to spend on a present for Elisa!’
