Ramsey RNLI Benefit From Britannia International Employee of the Year

by isleofman.com 11th March 2011
The recognition of a Britannia International employee has led to a ?250 donation to RNLI Ramsey Lifeboat Station. Ramsey Lifeboats received the boost after Dave Thornley, an IT solutions developer, was voted by his colleagues as the ‘Britannia International Employee of the Year’. As part of the company’s award, Dave was given the opportunity to nominate a charity of his choice for the ?250 donation. Managing director Mark Beresford said Dave was recognised by his peers for his helpful attitude and positive approach, and for being quick to action when problems occurred. “Dave demonstrates personal responsibility to ensure our customers get the best level of service possible,” said Mr Beresford. “He is always there to help out colleagues when they have a problem. Dave also spends time helping colleagues out of hours and is an active supporter of lifeboats and coastguards around the island.” Dave said, “This award came as a complete surprise to me and I’d like to thank everyone for acknowledging my efforts to make a difference within Britannia International.” - Ends -
