Green Light for Ramsey in Bloom 2011

With a prize fund of ?650, an opportunity for an individual entrant to win up to ?300 and 13 trophies for presentation Ramsey Town Commissioners are urging the people of Ramsey to get back to their roots and enter Ramsey in Bloom 2011. The competition was launched at Ramsey Town Hall when lead member for parks and leisure Kevin Crowe presented Ramsey Horticultural Society’s secretary Diana Hull with a ‘bunch’ of Ramsey in Bloom application forms. Mr Crowe said: ‘Ramsey in Bloom is a great opportunity for people in Ramsey – individuals, businesses, schools and voluntary groups - to get involved to help make the town look its best. With such a wide range of categories, gardeners of all ages and abilities can enter the competition that every year reveals some outstanding gardening talent and really tests the judges when choosing the winners.’ Ramsey in Bloom categories: § Public building section; § Commercial premises; § Private gardens (private sector and public sector); § Special categories, including ‘little gems’ and best newcomers; § Community project; § Wildlife garden. Full details are provided in application forms available from Ramsey Town Hall and public library, and downloadable from www.ramsey.gov.im. Alternatively telephone 810100 or email enquiries@ramsey.gov.im to arrange for an application form to be sent in the post. Completed application forms must be received no later than June 30, 2011. Judging will take place in early to mid-July and a prize presentation held later in the summer at Ramsey Town Hall. Ends
