Bidding Is Now Open For Twitter Festival’s Online Auction in Support of
Manx Children’s Charity Wish Upon A Dream
Isle of Man Twestival 2011 has today launched an online auction in advance of the big event taking place next week 19.30, 24 March at Jaks Bar & Steakhouse, in Douglas. All money raised goes to Manx children’s charity Wish Upon a Dream.
People wishing to bid on a selection of more than 20 auction items are invited to visit www.manxvoice.com/twestival-auctions, an Isle of Man website that is donating the facility to Twestival .
“The Isle of Man business community has been incredibly supportive of Twestival by contributing a wide range of luxury services, must-shave items and gourmet treats,” said organiser Sherrilynne Starkie. “A highlight is the smart phone donated by our corporate sponsor Manx Telecom: a Samsung Galaxy S Mobile Phone worth ?495 is sure to attract many bidders.”
The auction site works much like eBay. It’s easy to use and the current winning bid is displayed so no one is bidding blind. There is no requirement for a PayPal account or to provide credit card information online, because organisers will only accept as payment cheques made out to the charity. Delivery to the Isle of Man is free, but winning bidders will have to pay the cost of any off island shipping fees.
