Peel branch of the RNLI recently held their Annual General Meeting at Peel Town Hall. Most of the launches being fuel related. Crew training and recruitment was good with two in station training sessions with the Institutions instructors. Lord Boyce the National Chairman had paid a visit and indicated that one of the new Mersey class replacement boats would be coming to the Island. He thanked Malcolm Kelly, Lifeboat Boat Press Officer in particular for raising the profile of Peel station. Hazel Hannan Chair of the Ladies Guild reported that it had been a very good year as far as fund raising was concerned with a total income of ?21,744. Her committee had one or two new additions and had several high profile events including a fashion show and Garden Party coming up in the near future. She thanked all her committee for their hard work. All officers were returned with little change on last year’s line up. The Chairman concluded by thanking everyone for their attendance and looked forward to another successful year in 2011. Ends
